Establishing and expanding my professional network was one of the first things I needed to do after I moved to Asia. Fortunately, networking opportunities abound in Singapore and it’s easy to find professional events that will meet your specific needs. As a way of giving back to the community, I decided to donate my time and skills and volunteer with SheSays Singapore, a professional network for creative women. I have been a proud member since January 2017, worked with SheSays on multiple events, discussion panels, and a mentorship program. My responsibilities include engaging with the community in person and on social media, content creation, building partner relationships with local businesses, recruiting new volunteers, sourcing speakers, and more.
In February 2018, I co-moderated my first panel discussion focusing on mental health in the workplace. The event, titled Living Strong, attracted over 60 participants.
